The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the killing ofone Modupe Alasin, a woman from the Efon-Alaaye Local Government Area.

The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), SP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the woman’s death, stating that her husband has been arrested for further investigation.

An investigation revealed that the woman was late to meet her husband at their farm andas a result, the husband flogged her multiple times.

A witness near the farm heard the woman screaming and begging for mercy, but the man continued to beat her relentlessly.

A police source said a few minutes later, the man ordered her to get water from a nearby stream.

However, on her way there, she slumped and died.
