Man allegedly kills dad, stepmum in Edo

A 32-year-old man, Etionsa Aiguokun, has allegedly killed his father, Mr Aiguokun, and his step mother, Mrs Roseline Aiguokun, following a disagreement between him and his father in the Evbomore community in Ovia North-East LGA of Edo State.

It was gathered that last Wednesday the suspect had a disagreement with his father which degenerated into a physical fight and that in the process the suspect ran into the kitchen, took a pestle and allegedly smashed it on his father’s head.

It was also gathered that his step mother, who heard the screaming of her husband, rushed to the scene but that the suspect also smashed her head with the pestle.

A source said the duo died on the spot and that the suspect dragged their corpses to the back of the house, dumped them beside a soak away and covered them with leaves.

The source further said that when the deceased’s other children returned home, they started looking for their parents and that the suspect joined them in the search, but that when they couldn’t find them they reported to the Ugbowo Police Division.

He added that the corpses were recovered from the house during a police investigation after the suspect allegedly confessed how he killed them.

When contacted, the Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, said investigation was ongoing.
