A 55-year-old man, Hamidu Ali of Koriyel village, Babangida in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, has allegedly killed his 40-year-old wife.

Witnesses reported that Hamidu Ali attacked and macheted his wife to death following a misunderstanding. This incident adds to a growing concern over murder cases involving domestic and communal violence in the state.

Confirming the incident, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, stated that the suspect killed his wife for an unknown reason and then fled the area to an unknown destination.

According to Abdulkarim, the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call about the incident from inhabitants of Koriyel village, Babbangida, Tarmuwa LGA, at approximately 11am.

SP Abdulkarim assured the public that efforts have been intensified to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.
