Man allegedly threatens to kill family member in Ekiti

The police in Ekiti State command have arraigned one Adetutu Ebenezer (46) at the Chief Magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged threats to kill.

The prosecutor, Inspector Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that on November 9, 2025 at about 8pm at Omisanjana area, in Ado-Ekiti the defendants did threaten to kill Adetutu James and openly said he will not allow him to have peace till he dies.

Inspector Adeniyi said on the same date, time and place, the defendants did conduct himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace.

The prosecutor noted that the offence committed is punishable under Section 46, 181(d) Criminal Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Joy Raphael, urged the court to admit his client to bail, that he will not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, D. M. Babalogbon, granted bail of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

The case was adjourned until January 13, 2026 for hearing.
