A 41-year-old man, Sunday Solomon, was yesterday arraigned before the Ogba magistrate court in Lagos for allegedly assaulting two women, Mrs Abisola Aluko Olokun and Olufunmilayo Omololu.
Solomon, who is answering a five-count charge that include conspiracy, assault and sexual assault, was also accused of robbing the women of a total sum of N72,000.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Kenrich Nomayo, said that the accused committed the offences on October 25, 2018 at about 6am at ‘U’ turn bus stop, Abule Egba, Lagos.
Nomayo told the court, “The accused assaulted the women by beating them with his fist, and also used a wheel spanner to hit them on the knee cap, which caused them harm.”
He added that the accused sexually romanced Olokun by dipping his hand into her private part and stripping her naked.
Solomon, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs T.A. Ojo, granted him bail in the sum of N150,000, with two responsible sureties who must be his relations.
Mrs Ojo adjourned the case to December 12, 2018 for mention.
