A 36-year-old man, Amos Danladi, was on Thursday arraigned before a Kaduna Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting his neighbour over dog’s waste.
Danladi, a resident of Marafa, Kaduna, pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of assault and intentional insult. The prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on August 20 at his residence.
He said that the complainant, Sarah Dogara, reported the matter to the Gabasawa Police Station in Kaduna on the same date.
The prosecutor said the defendant, after seeing the complainant’s dog defecate in front of his door, started insulting her, which escalated to assault. (NAN)
Leo said that the defendant slapped the complainant and beat her to a pulp.
He added that neighbours intervened to save the complainant, and the case was then reported to the police, leading to the defendant’s arrest.
The magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the matter until September 23, for hearing. (NAN)
