Man arraigned for stealing N9.150m

The Lagos police command yesterday arraigned a 26-year-old man, Izuchukwu Njekwe, before an Ikeja magistrate’s court for allegedly stealing N9,150,500, said to be property of one Okoro Austin.

 Njekwe was arraigned before magistrate Mrs Y.O Aje Afunwa on a count charge of theft.

 The police prosecutor, Inspector N. Peter, told the court that the accused committed the offence on September 29, 2017 at about 10am at plot E21 Tafia Adelako Street, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.

 However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

  Mrs Aje Afunwa granted him bail in the sum of N1 million with one surety, who she said must provide tax verification and his address.

 She then adjourned the case till December 6, 2017 for service of proof of evidence.
