A man, Ahmad Usman, has been arraigned before a Shari’a Court in Danbare, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, on charges of conspiracy, assault, and harassment.
The prosecution counsel, Barrister Musbahu Usman, informed the court that the defendant allegedly mobilized a group of people to attack one Abba Shu’aibu Isa and ten others.
The victims had collectively contributed money to purchase a makara (local stretcher), which was stored in a mosque as per local tradition.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty, telling the court that his children were against the stretcher being kept in the mosque.

The presiding judge, Khadi Munzali Idris Gwadabe, adjourned the case until October 19, 2025, for the continuation of the hearing.
