A Shari’a Court at the Hisbah Board in Sharada, Kano, has ordered the remand of one Abdullahi Adamu Doguwa on charges of trespass, harassment, and attempted crime.
The prosecuting counsel, Barrister Husna Mamuda, informed the court that the defendant unlawfully entered a house in Sheka Quarters, Kumbotso LGA, where he allegedly assaulted a housewife.
He reportedly threatened to kidnap her son if she refused to hand over her mobile phone.
Abdullahi, a resident of Doguwa Local Government Area, admitted in court that he had traveled to Kano for work but claimed he missed the opportunity and was hungry, which prompted him to commit the act.
The presiding Judge, Sani Tanibu Sani Hausawa, ordered that the defendant be held in a correctional facility until the next court hearing.
