A 49-year-old man, Ahmad Ali, of Kwanar Dumawa, Minjibir Local Government Area Kano state has been arraigned for neglecting his six-year-old daughter, Khadija Ali.

The offence is contrary to Section 197 of the Penal Code Law.

The Prosecutor, Sani Musa informed the court that the accused failed to take care of his daughter, as he abandoned her to be roaming about on the street as a result of which she was killed by an unknown ritualist.

When the charge sheet was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.

In view of his plea, the presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Ibrahim Khalil Mahmoud ordered for his remand in prison and adjourned the case to January 21, 2019.
