Man arraigned over theft of gas cooker

A 19-year-old man, Kudus Yusuf, was yesterday arraigned before an Ogba, Lagos, magistrate court for allegedly stealing a gas cooker.

The prosecutor, Mr Kenrich Nomayo, told the court that the accused was arrested in possession of the cooker by a team of policemen from the Isokoko police station, led by Inspector Peter Merotiwon.

When Yusuf was asked to account for the ownership of the cooker, Nomayo said, he couldn’t give a satisfactory account.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The magistrate, Mrs T.O. Ojo, granted him bail in the sum of N10,000, with one surety, who she said must be a relative of the accused, evidence of tax clearance and his address verified.

The case was adjourned till October 23, 2018 for further mention.
