The police in Ogun State have arrested a 30-year-old man, simply identified as Praise, for allegedly abducting and defiling a 14-year-old girl in Mowe area of Obafemi Owode LGA.
The police spokesperson in the state, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the arrest to journalists on Thursday, said the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at the Mowe Division by the grandparents of the victim.
She said, “Medical forms have been issued for examination and treatment of the victim in a government hospital for more credible evidence.
“Preliminary investigation has commenced at the Mowe Division, but the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.”

She added that the command was partnering with the state’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare to end sex assault and abuse in the state.
