The police in Imo State have arrested one Chukwudi Ijezie for allegedly killing a herbalist while testing an alleged bullet-repelling charm.

It was gathered that the 26-year-old herbalist, Chinaka Adoezuwe of Umuozu Ugiri village, Isiala Mbano LGA of the state died when he was testing the efficacy of the bullet-repelling charms he prepared for Ijezie.

Adoezuwe was said to have boasted about the potency of the concoction and asked Ijezie to test it on him.

It was gathered that Ijezie went to the deceased to procure charms that would make it impossible for bullets to penetrate his body.

Witnesses said the deceased had wanted to test it on Ijezie, but he (Ijezie) declined.

“To reassure Ijezie that he was confident of his feat, he (Adoezuwe) wore the charms around his neck, and thereafter asked Ijezie to shoot. The experiment however turned sour as Adoezuwe died instantly after Ijezie pulled the trigger,” one of the witnesses said.

Spokesman of the police in the state, Andrew Enwerem, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect had been arrested, adding that he was being held for investigation and prosecution.
