Police operatives in Eyenkorin, Kwara State, have arrested a man for the unlawful possession of a locally made pistol.
The suspect, identified as Oyetunde Issa Isaac, was apprehended after the owner of a building raised an alarm and alerted the police.
The owner of the building, one Abdulmumini Yakub, reported meeting a man who had broken into his newly purchased house in the Budo Eke area.
During a search, a locally made barrel pistol was recovered from the suspect, who could not provide any explanation for being in possession of the weapon.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the suspect had been taken into custody and investigation was ongoing to establish his motive and possible links with other criminal elements.
