The police in Lagos have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly using a toy gun to rob people.

Police said the young man was arrested on Ejire Street in Itire area while robbing passersby with a toy gun.

The suspect, according to the police, attacked those who delayed to hand over their belongings, adding that some of those robbed by the suspect included one Samuel Atare and Apugo Chizoba.

Items allegedly recovered from the suspect include phones, cash and other valuables.

The suspect was charged before an Isolo magistrates’ court for robbery and unlawful possession of a toy gun to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Teluwo, granted the suspect bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

However, the suspect was remanded in prison and the case  adjourned to March 26.
