Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspect, identified as Nnamdi Stanley Chibuike (24) with a gun in Delta State.

The suspect was arrested during a routine stop-and-search operation at Koka Roundabout, Asaba.

The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspect was arrested following an intelligence report about suspected armed robbers and kidnappers in the area.

He said the police, while conducting the routine stop-and-search operation at Koka roundabout, Asaba, intercepted the suspect, whose suspicious behavior prompted a thorough search.

He said in the course of the search, a fabricated Beretta pistol was discovered carefully concealed inside a loaf of bread, and he was promptly arrested.

He said the suspect, who lives at Ogbeowele Quarters, behind the General Hospital, Asaba, was immediately taken into custody with the exhibit.

Edafe said investigation was ongoing to ascertain his possible connection with incidents of armed robbery and kidnapping within the Asaba metropolis and adjoining communities.
