Man arrested with stolen goat in Abuja market

Vigilantes in Kwaku village have arrested Yunusa Danlami on Sunday with a stolen goat he was attempting to sell at the local market.

Ayuba Isaac, one of the vigilantes, said Danlami stole the goat from the neighbouring Kigbe village.

According to Isaac, the suspect stole the goat on Saturday night and hid it in an abandoned, dilapidated classroom within the community.

He then returned in the early hours of Sunday to take the goat to Kwaku market to sell.

The owner of the goat, upon discovering it missing, reported the theft to the vigilantes in Kwaku village, who began monitoring the suspect.

He said Danlami was apprehended when he brought the goat to the market, adding that the goat was recovered and returned to its owner, while Danlami was handed over to the police at the Kwaku outpost.

A police source at the outpost, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the arrest, noting that Danlami is known for stealing goats in the area.
