A lady identified as Angela Ogah is battling for her life at an undisclosed hospital following the injury sustained after an acid attack on her in Edo State.

The incident reportedly happened at Amufi community in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state, when her boyfriend, identified as Timothy Gilbert, allegedly poured a substance suspected to be acid on her.

The victim reportedly had a misunderstanding with her boyfriend, leading to a heated argument, and in the process, he allegedly poured acid on her.

The suspect, after the acid attack, fled the community to evade arrest by the security agents.

It was learnt that the victim’s lawyer, John Izegaegbe, has submitted a formal petition to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, demanding urgent action and justice.

The spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, CSP Moses Yami, when contacted, said he is yet to be briefed on the incident.
