An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has sentenced a 33-year-old Oluwatuyi Bidemi to 84 years imprisonment for robbery, attempted murder, kidnapping and rape.
The prosecutor, Oluwaseun Olasanmi, said convict on July 7, 2021, at Omuo-Ekiti, attempted to murder one Abiodun Agnes and also rob her of a phone, charger, wristwatch, ATM cards and others, on same date and place, and did kidnap and raped the victim.
The prosecutor, Olasanmi, called four witnesses and tendered defendant’s statements and medical report, among others as exhibits.
The defendant spoke through his lawyer, Charles Ayobioloja, but called no witnesses, praying the court to temper justice with mercy.

In his judgement, Justice Adeniji Familoni,
sentenced him to 21 years imprisonment on each of the four counts without option of fine.
“The sentences are to run concurrently with effect from the date of arrest and detention of the defendant,” the judge pronounced.
