Man caught with human flesh, bones arraigned

A 38-year-old man, Jamiu Yekinni, was on Tuesday arraigned in an Iyaganku magistrates’ court for unlawful possession of human flesh and dry bones in Oyo State.

The police charged Yekinni of unknown address with a two counts bordering on conspiracy and unlawful possession of human flesh and bones.

The prosecutor, Insp Gbemisola Adedeji, told the court that around 10am on June 23, at Guru Maharaji area of Ibadan along the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway, Yekinni was accosted and found to be in possession of human flesh and dry human bones.

Adedeji said the offence contravened Section 242 (1) (b) and 517 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2,000.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. A. Akande, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned to August 5. (NAN)
