The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned 52-year-old Samuel Bayode before the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over allegations of assault and malicious damage.

The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant, of No. 27, Oke-Ala Street, Ado-Ekiti, did assault one Ilesanmi Taiwo on February 20, 2026, at Basiri, Ado-Ekiti, by forcefully pushing her to the ground.

ASP Oriyomi further alleged that on the same date and at the same location, the defendant maliciously damaged the screen of the complainant’s mobile phone, a Tecno Spark 8P valued at N120,000.

The prosecutor stated that the offences committed are contrary to and punishable under Sections 183 and 354 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Ademola Richard, urged the court to grant his client bail, assuring the magistrate that the defendant would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until April 16, for hearing.
