The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned an 18-year-old man, Olapade Ifeoluwa, in an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court over an alleged indecent assault of a seven-year-old girl.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on December 11, 2025, at about 8am in Ilawe-Ekiti.

Inspector Oriyomi said the offence was punishable under Section 19(5) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to admit his client to bail on a liberal term.

The Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned to February 12, 2026.
