A 27-year-old man, Fakiyesi Olumide, has been arraigned in a magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, for unlawful assault on his friend which resulted in eye injuries.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on August 30, in Ado-Ekiti, the defendant unlawfully hit one Ajayi Kolapo Omolayo on his face which caused injuries to one of his eyes.
The prosecutor noted that the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 186 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.
Counsel to the defendant, Barr Joseph Ogunsehunmi, urged the court to grant his client bail, promising to provide a credible surety.

The Magistrate, B A Oluwasanmi, granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to November 29.
