A 42-year-old man, Ebun Goddey, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Ota magistrates’ court in Ogun State for allegedly defrauding a man of N800,000 under false pretence.

The prosecutor, Insp E. O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant on September 27, 2022, at Canaan Land, Ota, collected N800,000 under false pretence from one Adeoti Adedoyin to assist him get aluminium scrap from Tower Company in Ota.

He said after the N800,000 was paid into the defendant’s elder brother’s First Bank account number 3042039739, the defendant converted the money to his personal use.

The Magistrate, Mrs A. O. Adeyemi, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum adjourned the case to March 27. (NAN)
