A man, Festus Olasunkanmi, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Iyaganku magistrates’ court in Ibadan, Oyo State, over alleged N9 million land fraud.
The prosecutor, Insp Olagoke Adegbenro, told the court that the defendant collected N9m from the complainant, Taiwo Oyedepo, with the pretext of transferring ownership of a plot of land to him.
The prosecutor said the defendant failed to fulfill the agreement and rather converted the money to his personal use contrary to Sections 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N2m, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to January 20, 2026. (NAN)
