The police in Ekiti State have arraigned a man, Iyanu Adebayo (25), in a magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged unlawful and indecent touching of a woman.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant, on or about December 8, 2025, at Emure-Ekit, indecently touched a woman, Morenike Mohammed, sexually without her consent contrary to and punishable under Section 269 (1) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Taiwo Omidoyin, urged the court to admit his client to bail.

The Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned to February 6, 2026.
