The police on Wednesday arraigned a 32-year-old man, Henry Duru, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing phones in church.
Duru, whose address was not provided, is facing a three-count charge bothering on stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, ASP Musbau Lawal, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 17, around 3.45 am at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus Tower, Ibadan.
Lawal said the defendant stole three phones and a powerbank belonging to the complainants, Messrs Danlady Ishaku and Samuel Oluwole.
Lawal said the offences contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to March 26 for mention. (NAN)
