The police in Ekiti State have arraigned a 36-year-old man, Samuel Chucks, in an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court for allegedly stealing 50 iron rods.
The prosecutor, Inspector Raymond Osas, told the court that the defendant on August 14, in Ikogosi-Ekiti, stole 50 pieces of 12mm iron rods valued at N575,000, property of the Ekiti State Government.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr Ayodeji Oguntuase, urged the court to grant the defendant bail.
The Magistrate, Olatomiwa Daramola, granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to September 18.
