The Ekiti State Police Command have arraigned one Afolabi Samuel (55) at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged threat to kill his wife and children.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, said the defendants on June 22 at about 09:00 hours at the Matthew area in Ado-Ekiti, threatened to kill his wife and children by setting them ablaze with petrol, which he bought.
Inspector Oriyomi pointed out that the defendants on the same date, time and place also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace.
The prosecutor said the offence was punishable under Section 69, 181(d) Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021.
Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Joy Raphael, urged the court to admit his client to bail.
The Chief MagistrateAbayomi Adeosungranted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till July 22, for hearing.
