According to sources, Ojo had tactfully removed the baby from it mother’s side, having allegedly drugged the nursing woman before going to bed  in their Ogbere area residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The nursing mother who woke up in the middle of the night to discover that the baby was missing instantly raised an alarm.

It was at this juncture that the nursing mother together with some members of her husband’s family immediately headed for the residence of a community leader in the area where they lodged complaints. They reportedly met the father of the baby at the community leader’s place.

Sources revealed that few minutes after, Ojo hurriedly departed the said elder’s house for an undisclosed place while others were still awaiting his whereabouts.

But after awaiting Ojo’s arrival for about two hours to no avail, the community leader together with Ojo’s landlord reportedly resolved to telephone him to ascertain his whereabouts with a view to formally reporting the missing of the baby to the police.

Ojo, while responding to the telephone calls, reportedly told the elders that he was on his way to the police station at Idi-Aro to report the missing of the baby.

Consequently, detectives from the Idi-Aro police station stormed the Ogbere area and arrested all those suspected over the missing of the baby while Ojo was singled out as the prime suspect seven days after the sudden disappearance of the baby.

Police investigations revealed that Ojo was allegedly sighted going out of his wife’s room with a polythene bag about an hour before the wife raised an alarm on the fateful day.

After thorough investigation, Ojo allegedly confessed to the police that he was the one that actually took away the baby to a nearby uncompleted building in the area where the baby was later discovered by the police on the ninth day when the suspect led the detectives there.

Meanwhile, the man is said to be in Police custody at Iyaganku just as detectives from the state Police Command continue their investigations into the matter while both the recuperating baby and the nursing mother have been transferred to an undisclosed hospital in Ibadan.

Confirming the incident, the Commissioner of Police for the Oyo state command, Alhaji Baba Adisa Bolanta stated that investigations were still on-going in the matter.
