Man cries out over missing of his 4 kids after vigilantes’ raid

A man, Muhammadu Janyi, has raised alarm over the missing of his four children after a raid by the Miyetti Allah Vigilantes in Kwaku community in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.

Janyi, who spoke with our reporter on Thursday, said the vigilantes came into Kwaku village on Tuesday and raided some houses and whisked away some residents.

Janyi, who gave his missing son’s names as Mohi, Muhammadu Dogo, Abubakar and Malami, explained that the vigilantes, who were armed with sophisticated weapons, claimed to be hunting for kidnappers and their informants.

He said, “I returned from the farm and did not see four of my children at home. I enquired and neighbours told me my children fled home when the vigilantes came raiding some houses.”

He further said his wife and two other kids were forced to abandon home and relocate to Kwaita village.

He added that, “In fact, up till this moment, I can’t locate my children and their phones are not connecting. I have reported to the vigilante commander in Kwaku.”

City & Crime gathered that residents of rural communities in the area have been decrying over activities of the Miyetti Allah Vigilantes, where they accuse them of mass arrests, especially of non-indigenes.

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, was yet to react on the incident.
