20 year old man dies after jumping into well in lagos
A 33-year-old man, Muhd Sagir, lost his life after falling into a well in the Kawon Alhaji Sani area of Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Assistant Fire Officer (ACFO) Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the incident occurred around 12:42 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
He said the Fire Service received an emergency call from one Sabi’u Muhammed, alerting them to the incident.
“A rescue team from the service headquarters was immediately mobilised to the scene.”
“On arrival, the crew found one man, Muhd Sagir, aged about 33, who had fallen into a dry well. He was rescued unconscious and later confirmed dead,” he said.
The deceased’s body was subsequently handed over to the ward head of Kawon Arewa, Alhaji Hamisu.
The State Fire Service reiterated its commitment to responding swiftly to emergencies and urged residents to secure open wells and similar hazards to prevent future tragedies.
