A 23-year-old man, Abiodun Odeyale, has been docked in Lagos for allegedly stealing passport machine and other items worth N1.5 million.
Odeyale is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing in an Ojo magistrate court.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday before the magistrate, Mr A.A Adesanya.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence with some others, now at large, on November 25 at Aka Road, Okokomaiko, Ojo, Lagos.
Uche said the defendant burgled the shop of the complainant, Mr Kolawole Yekini and stole the items.
He said the defendant stole, 23 laptops valued N1.3 million, and two-minute passport machine valued N8,000, Elepaq generator, valued N35,000 and N195,000.
Uche said the total value of the items stolen was N1.53 million.
The prosecutor said the defendant was subsequently arrested on a tip off.
According to him, the offences contravened sections 287,309 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Adesanya granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until January 20, 2020 for mention. (NAN)
