A 34-year-old man has been arraigned before an Evboriaria magistrate’s court in Benin for allegedly parading himself as a staff of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) to defraud people.
The offence was alleged to have been committed at Ogheghe community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
The prosecutor, Olatoye Oluwaseun, alleged that Ikechukwu Sunday collected the sum of N100,000 to supply BEDC electricity meter to one Udu Kelly.
He said the accused also collected N10,000 from one Agho Favour to repair a BEDC meter as well as disconnecting electricity lines.
