A 37-year-old man, Umar Ayuba, has drowned in a well while attempting to retrieve a woman’s wrapper in Kawon Maigari community in Nasarawa LGA of Kano State.

 The spokesman of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident to journalists, said the incident happened on Tuesday evening.

 He said, “We received an emergency call at about 05:20 pm from one Mamuda Abdallah that a man was trapped inside a well and we immediately sent our rescue team to the scene.

“Ayuba was brought out of the well unconscious, handed over to Inspector Adamu Sani of Hotoro Police Division and conveyed to the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead.”
