A 48-year-old man, Ishaya Bako, reportedly fell from a palm kernel tree and died at Kutara village in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.

A resident of Kutara, Dantani Usman, said the incident happened on Saturday, around 11:12am when the deceased and his son went to harvest palm kernel in the area.

He said the deceased climbed the palm kernel tree and was cutting the fruits when the rope he tied to his waist snapped.

He said the man fell and hit his head on a stone, adding that his son ran back home to report the incident.

He said members of the man’s family mobilised to the farm and discovered the man in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his head.

“Immediately, the family members arrived at the farm, they took the man on a bike to get him to the hospital but he died on the way,” he said.

He said the remains of the man had been buried.
