A middle-aged man was remanded in prison custody by a Kano state Sharia Court sitting at Yan Alluna, Fagge for allegedly enticing a wife of his friend.
Danlami Umar resident of Na’ibawa quarters was dragged to the court by his friend, one Yahaya Alhaji Abba of the same address who alleged that the accused person had enticed his wife, Murja Yahaya a development that led to misunderstanding between them.
The court further heard that after Murja left her matrimonial home, the accused person pursued her to her parent’s house, gave her N4000 to sue her husband before court and demand for divorce.
Prosecutors told the court that the offense which contradicted Section 173 of Kano state Sharia Penal Code Law was reported to the police through a letter of complaint from Sabon Gari Shari’a Court.
When asked by the court, the accused denied the charge. He told the court that he went to meet the woman after he learnt that his friend had divorced her.
Shari’a Court Judge, Abubakar Ayagi adjourned the case to December 30
to enable police present witness. He ordered the accused person to be remanded in prison custody.
