The APC governorship candidate for the state, Simon Lalong, and his supporters had paid a courtesy visit to the district head of Gyel, Da Nga Dangyang, when the angry thugs, looking like they had taken more liquor than they could manage, surrounded the convoy.
In a twist of fate, one of the attackers did more damage to himself than the victim of his attack, slashing his arm in the broken pieces of the vehicle that he set out to destroy.
Rather than fly into a rage for the damage done to their vehicle, occupants of the vehicle, apparently brimming with pity for the attacker, gave him N3,000 for his hospital treatment.
A rare case of paying evil with good, some would say.
