 A middle-aged man said to be epileptic, identified as Adewale Odunlade, has reportedly hacked  his friend, Moruf Lawal, to death.

The incident occurred following a disagreement between the duo at Atan in Ado-odo/Ota LGA of Ogun State late Sunday.

It was  gathered that both Odunlade and his deceased friend usually posed as security personnel on the road to extort money from commercial drivers plying Atan road in the night, before the disagreement over proceeds.

Odunlade allegedly lost his patience during the disagreement and reportedly hacked Lawal, popularly known as Kaka, to death.

The deceased, 38, was reportedly cut beyond recognition, the Police PRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed in a telephone call, adding that the suspect was promptly arrested by policemen at Onipanu division.

The PPRO said contrary to the general belief that the man was mentally unstable, he was only suffering from epilepsy, adding that the DPO has been ordered to transfer the case to the homicide section of the command for further investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
