The police in Akwa Ibom State have arrested one Joseph Sunday of Obot Ideng village in Ibesikpo Local Government Area of the state for allegedly raping his two daughters, aged nine and 13 years.
It was gathered that the suspect had been engaging in a threesome with his daughters for over three years after he divorced their mother who has since relocated to Rivers State.
It was learnt that Sunday, said to be in his late 40s, always had carnal knowledge of his two daughters at the same time in his home in Ibesikpo.
The suspect was said to have threatened his daughters with traditional injunction (mbiam) to ensure they did not disclose the incidents to anyone.
But the illicit affair was exposed when he caught his 13-year-old daughter with another man identified as the daughter’s boyfriend over which he was angry with her.
He was said to have beaten her thoroughly causing her, in turn to expose her father’s incestuous acts with them.
The nine-year-old daughter was said to have said she was in love with her father and had enjoyed the act.
The suspect reportedly confessed to the crime and said he wanted to test if his manhood was still functioning well.
“My wife left me some years ago because of some family issues and relocated to Rivers State. I have been the only one taking care of my daughters. I just want to test if my manhood is still functional using my daughters,” he was quoted as saying.
The spokesman of the police in the state, SP Odiko MacDon, said the case would soon be charged to court.
