A 40-year-old man, Oluwatosin Popoola, was arraigned on Thursday before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing fish valued at N65,000.
Popoola, whose address was not provided, pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Adeshina Folaranmi, informed the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offense on July 30 at 7 am at Olajide Farm, Orile-Odo, Ibadan.
According to Folaranmi, the defendant, who had no business at the farm, entered and stole 60 pieces of Tilapia fish and five pieces of catfish, all valued at N65,000.
He stated that the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one reliable surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until November 20 for hearing. (NAN)
