Man in court for allegedly stealing goats in Ekiti

A 39-year-old man, Akintomiwa Olufemi, has been charged at the Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti for an alleged felony involving the theft of goats.

According to the police, the defendant and other accomplices, who are still at large, unlawfully conspired to steal goats on August 28 around 6am in the state capital.

Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi stated that the offence is punishable under Section 421 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

The defendant’s counsel, Barrister O. G. Abiola, requested bail for his client, assuring the court that he would not abscond.

Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted bail for N50,000 with one surety in the same amount and adjourned the case until October 7, for hearing.
