A 25-year-old man, Segun James, on Wednesday, appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing food items and toiletries worth N3.7 million.
The defendant, of no fixed address, is standing trial on a charge of stealing.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Insp Yomi Osuolale, told the court that the defendant and others at large, committed the offence between May and June in Ado-Ekiti.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr OlawumiOlowolafe, urged the court to grant the defendant bail, the request Magistrate Olubunmi Bamidele granted in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till July 30, for hearing. (NAN)
