Man in court for attacking VIO in Kano

The police have arraigned one Bala Sa’idu before a Kano Shari’a Court sitting in Danbare Quarters in Kumbotso LGA for allegedly disrupting operations and inflicting serious injuries on a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO).

The police prosecutor, Inspector Bashir Wada, said the VIO attempted to prevent the suspect along with two others still at large, from driving on a single lane, but he refused and instead attacked the officer.

The defendant pleaded not guilty and insisted that the two others at large were responsible for the attack.

Khadi Munzali Idris Gwadabe ordered his remand in a correctional centre and adjourned the case till October 22, 2024 for witness testimony.
