Police in Ekiti State have arraigned one Ilori Israel (46) at the Chief Magistrate Court, Ado-Ekiti, over an alleged attack and disruption of a Sunday church service.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, stated that on June 20, at approximately 10.30am, in the Balota area of Ado-Ekiti, the defendant and three others at large conspired to harm one Adunshe Oluwasoji (18).
Inspector Oriyomi further explained that on the same date, time and location, the defendants went to a church and disrupted the Sunday service by attacking the entire congregation with a large stone.
The prosecutor said the offense violates Sections 421 and 140 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State 2021 and is punishable thereunder.
Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Ayorinde Busuyi, urged the court to grant his client bail.
Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned to August 11 for hearing.
