The Ekiti State Police Command have arraigned a 27-year-old man, Femi Bejide, at a magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged sexual offence.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant on or about April 17 at Ikere-Ekiti within the magisterial district did sexually touch one Precious Ojufu without her consent.

Inspector Oriyomi noted that the offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 269 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Olasanmi Falade, urged the court to grant him bail, the request, Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun, granted in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till May 22, for hearing.
