The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned 30-year-old Adebayo Deji before a Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly stealing vehicles.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant and others now at large conspired to steal vehicles sometime in 2025 at Iluomoba-Ekiti, within the Ode-Ekiti Magisterial District.
Inspector Oriyomi stated that the offence is punishable under Section 421 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State (2021).
The defense counsel, Barrister A. A. Alaro, urged the court to admit his client to bail, assuring the magistrate that the defendant would not jump bail if the application was granted.
In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until March 3, for hearing.
