The police in Ekiti State Command have arraigned a 33-year-old man, Oluwatoba Opeyemi, at the Chief Magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti over alleged stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant, between the months of January and July 3, 2025, being the Manager and Accountant of a sachet water company at GRA, did allegedly steal the sum of N5,258,500, belonging to Bisi Egbeyemi.
Inspector Oriyomi said the offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 302 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State Nigeria 2021.
Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Gbenga Bejide, urged the court to admit his client to bail, that he will not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till August 14 for hearing.
