Olayemi Abidemi arrested for alleged robbery in Osogbo, Osun State
The police in Osun State have arrested a 31-year-old man, Olayemi Abidemi, for alleged robbery in Osogbo, the state capital.
The Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Mr Wale Olokode, said the suspect was arrested through intelligence.
He said Olayemi conspired with one Azeez Ojo and robbed their victim of his necklace and hand chain valued at N50,000.
CP Olokode explained that, “Upon receiving a distress call from the victim, the police swung into action and arrested the suspect, while his accomplice is at large.”
The police boss further said investigation revealed that the suspect was a member of the Black Axe Confraternity also known as Aye Confraternity.
The suspect who is a native of Oyan town in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of the state confessed that he was a cultist but denied the robbery claim by the police.
