A 40-year-old man, Aminu Sokoto, who was alleged to have received rolls of cable wire knowing them to have been stolen, was yesterday arraigned before an Igbosere magistrate court in Lagos.

The police, in a three-count criminal charge, alleged that Sokoto and another suspect now awaiting trial at the Igbosere magistrate court, conspired to steal the cable at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Eti-Osa Local Government, at about 2230 hours.

According to the prosecuting police officer, Cyriacus Osuji, Sokoto stole rolls of cable wire valued at N2.4 million, property of Linear Engineering Company, represented by Kemi Akingbade.

Sokoto, however, pleaded not guilty to all the three counts.

The magistrate, A. Ope Agbe, while adjourning further hearing till February 27, 2019, admitted the suspect to a N1m bail, with one surety.
